Hello and welcome to the Eye Center. The Center was
started by Dr. Sham Tekwani over 30 years ago and
provides a wide range of eye care services  including
routine eye examinations, glasses, contacts, glaucoma
treatment and surgery, cataract surgery, laser treatments
for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and eye
lid surgery.

Dr. Kerry Young joined the center in 2006. She is a St.
Louis native and has been caring for fellow St. Louisans
for the last 2
0 years.

   Optical Services
The center also has an optical dispensary which has
the latest in eye wear at reasonable prices. We
specialize in contact lenses and many of our
patients have been categorised as  difficult to fit
somewhere else because of severe dry  eyes  or
astigmatism or other corneal problems.

                     Laser Care at the Eye Center
    Ophthalmology has always been at the forefront in using lasers in medicine and the Eye Center has lasers available on site for management of
    various ocular problems.
    Most common uses include glaucoma, diabetes and various retinal diseases.  Should your condition warrant such a treatment, remain assured
    you will get the best care possible.

                                Surgical Care
    Should you or a loved one need eye surgery, you receive best possible care on out patient basis. Some of the surgery is performed at the center
    but some complex procedures may need to be performed at an outpatient surgery center or a hospital.

After 35 years in practice, Dr. Malaz Safi
has decided to close his two offices in
Saint Louis area (8790 Watson Road and
5800 Natural Bridge) and has kindly
entrusted the Eye Center to be the
custodian of his records.
